Many of us hardly ever think anything about such a topic but it definitely needs to be addressed. We are currently undergoing a sand shortage by 2020 the country of Vietnam will have exhausted its construction grade sand resources. Sand is the second most used natural resource following water. It might sound very silly to say this but not all sand is created equally. Desert sand is actually almost useless when it comes to creating construction grade sand. The most valuable sands for that are sought after are from oceans and riverbed. We use sand to make glass,computer-parts,and construction grade concrete.
Countries around the entire world are continually building and expanding. Eventually according to experts the majority of the populations around the world will be living in cities by the year 2050.
Due to the increase in demand for this precious valuable resource a new black market has been formed. In India people and village and other communities around the world have been killed ravaged or even worst by the Sand Mafia. The Sand Mafia is a group of individuals that will stop at nothing in order to mine up sand and sell it for commercial use. They have killed anybody that will get in their way. Foreign government regulations and local government have done very little to stop them.
In this episode we will discuss a new alternative that might be able to stop this the peoples lives that have been lost due to this. Bringing awareness to communities that have been destroyed by the Sand Mafia. This Sand Mafia’s process does not have to involve expensive sand mining equipment they have people diving with buckets and digging by hand if need be.The river sand is the most valuable and also ecosystems rely heavily on it. The river sand mining destroys many small communities that are actually trying to survive and a chain effect occurs when food supplies are diminished.
